This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
I been heavily bogged down with work lately, hence the lack of deviations. I tell you what, working freelance is great and I doubt I'll ever have a boss again. Don't be fooled though, it certainly isn't easy. One of the main problems I have found is that without the backing of a company clients delay payment and sometimes the deadlines are pretty unreasonable. I have read countless blogs and articles about how one should operate when working freelance. To be honest they haven't really helped. That's not to say that the advice has been bad, I just find that everybody does things differently and what works for one may not necessarily work for another. Us artists and designers tend to be a nice lot (haven't met a creative that's a dick yet) and our good nature is sometimes taken advantage of. The more business savvy know the ins and outs of business practice and I guarantee you they get paid on time. My advice to the budding freelance designer would be: know your shit when it comes to the business side of things. Start the job with a quote. Once the quote has been accepted ask for a 50% deposit before you even start the job, this gets you and them (you know "them") on the ball. And when you've sent a final proof through, invoice, invoice, invoice! Well that's my rant for today and if any of you guys and gals out there are working freelance and reading this I would love to hear your thoughts. Peace.
